Why it matters

A quote from a free email address could come from anyone. A quote from your own address comes from a business.

Customers, suppliers and banks judge a message before they open it. An address with your business name tells them who you are, and every email you send repeats your name. It also stays yours: change email provider later and the address goes with you.

Behind the address sit a domain, a few settings most people never see, and the checks that decide whether your message reaches the inbox or the spam folder. Triad sets them up once, correctly, and leaves you with an inbox that simply works.

    yourbusiness.rw is the name people type and the part after the @ in your email. You rent it a year at a time, in your business name.

    Zoho Mail keeps the messages sent to aline@yourbusiness.rw and lets you send from it, on your phone and in the browser.

  • Hosting is where the website lives

    A rented space on a server that keeps your website online day and night. cPanel is its control panel, with your own login. Presence includes it; a Starter Page lives on Cloudflare instead, with no hosting bill.

    It stands in front of your domain and website: it keeps your settings safe, makes pages load faster and blocks common attacks. Set up once; nothing for you to manage.

Good to know

  • Everything is in your name

    The domain, the mailboxes, the hosting and the Cloudflare account belong to your business, with your own logins. Triad has access to look after them, never ownership.

  • Renewed every year

    A domain, and hosting, are rented a year at a time. Your renewal dates are kept on record and you get a reminder well before they are due, so your email and website never stop.

  • Messages that arrive

    Mail services like Gmail check that a message really comes from you before they deliver it. Triad sets up the small settings that prove it (their technical names are SPF, DKIM and DMARC) and tests them, which keeps you out of spam folders.

  • Harder to fake

    The same settings tell other mail services to refuse messages that pretend to come from your address, so scammers cannot easily write to your customers as you.

  • Keep your old address while you switch

    Already using a free address? Keep it for a while, and old messages can be moved across as an addition.

  • Not only .rw

    A .com or another ending works the same way, alone or alongside your .rw.

Straight answers

What is the difference between the three packages?

Starter is your domain and business email, with no website. Starter Page adds a one page website on Cloudflare’s free plan, with no hosting to pay for; Triad makes changes to it on request. Presence adds web hosting with cPanel and a one page WordPress website that you update yourself. All three can be extended with additions and moved up later.

Why is Starter Page cheaper than Presence?

It runs on Cloudflare’s free plan, so there is no hosting to rent each year. The trade off is control: there is no WordPress dashboard, so you ask Triad when something needs changing. When you want to edit the site yourself or add pages, move to Presence.

What is cPanel, and will I have to use it?

cPanel is the control panel of your hosting, the place where the website’s files, database and backups live. You get your own login, so your hosting is never locked away from you. Day to day you will rarely open it: you change text and photos in WordPress, and your email lives in Zoho.

If there is hosting, why Cloudflare too?

The hosting is where your website lives. Cloudflare stands in front of it: it serves your pages faster to phones, blocks common attacks before they reach the site, and keeps your domain settings safe. It is set up once, and you never need to touch it.

Can I use it in the Gmail app or Outlook?

On Zoho’s free plan, you read and send email in the browser and in the Zoho Mail app on your phone. Outlook, the iPhone Mail app and other mail apps need a paid Zoho plan, which can be added at any time.

How much does business email cost?

You pay a setup fee once. After that, the domain renews every year on every package, and the hosting renews every year on Presence. Zoho’s and Cloudflare’s free plans have no bill. See what you pay, and when; exact amounts are in your written proposal before anything is registered.

Who owns the domain and the email?

You do. The domain is registered in your business name through an accredited registrar, and you are the main administrator of your mailboxes. Triad keeps access only to look after them.

What happens if the domain or hosting is not renewed?

Without the domain, the email and website stop working. Without the hosting, the website goes offline. That is why both renewal dates are kept on record and you are reminded well before they are due.

Is the free plan enough?

For most small businesses, yes: up to 5 mailboxes with 5 GB each. Zoho decides what its free plan includes and can change it. If that happens, Triad tells you the options before anything stops working.
